Norton's, a decent live-aboard friendly marina.

Norton's is the grand ol' lady of Greenwich Cove. I mentioned this marina briefly in my article on Goddard Memorial Park anchorage. Being one of the oldest marinas in the near area, it has aged well. Perhaps a better word would be matured.
I'm happy to say they now qualify as a real value with a reduced transient rate of $1.50 per foot.
I'll be listing marinas with lower rates for transients, they do exist at $1 per foot. Trouble is, when they offer nothing other than a place to tie up, there's nothing around them or they're far from the ocean, even $1 is too much. I look at the value a marina offers as well as the price. I have no problem recommending Norton's for all those reasons.
One thing I personally like is that non of the docks are hard on the legs to reach shore. Some are within a few feet with parking space and a place to set up a kind of backyard thing. Those are usually taken by the snow birds who come here on a regular basis. Live aboards are very welcome here.
This is a full service marina with a host of vendors on property, even a maid service for keeping your boat clean. Restaurants are plentiful in the area with one on site open in season. Shopping and provisioning again are no problem. Plenty of stores within a short taxi ride and RIPTA bus service in close by as well. TF Green International Airport is within short distance for longer travel if needed. All in all it's an excellent place to keep your boat if you need to leave her for a while.
